Hygienist
Our oral hygienists are licensed primary healthcare professionals who work hand in hand with our highly qualified dentists to help provide world class preventative and therapeutic dental services to all our patients. They specialise in the removal of dental plaque and tartar from teeth to prevent cavities, gingivitis, and other gum diseases. We use our oral hygienists as the primary dental resource for the control of oral diseases and the promotion of oral health for patients.
Dental Hygiene Services
All of our oral hygienists offer a number of basic dental hygiene services that include:
Fluoride TreatmentsScaling & PolishingEducation & PreventionFissure SealantsHome careTeeth Whitening
They will also be available to help improve your dental hygiene through constant feedback and by updating you on all the latest dental hygiene techniques currently used by our practise and that are available around the world.
Remember! All of our patients must realise that between cleanings by a dental hygienist, good personal oral hygiene is also essential for preventing tartar build-up which causes all the dental hygiene problems we mentioned above. This can only be done by you at home through careful and frequent brushing with a high quality toothbrush and the use of dental floss on a daily basis. Remember, you only have one set of adult teeth and insufficient cleaning and bad habits can cost you money an ultimately your entire smile!
Dental Hygiene Recommendations
Our dentists generally recommend that your teeth be cleaned by a professional dental hygienist at least twice every year. A professional dental hygienist will include at least tooth scaling and tooth polishing with each and every one of your visits. If too much tartar has built up between your twice yearly visits they will also include debridement followed by a possible fluoride treatment.
